I believe that we should always be Go-Givers – that is reach out our hands to others without thinking about what we will get from that. Sometimes this has disappointing outcomes but mostly when you come from a place of giving rather than receiving you find that life is pretty amazing!
One thing that is true and good is that we can share with others things that have touched our lives! And so I have decided that on Sundays the ONLY post I will make on my facebook page is one about fabulous Catholic or Christian Initiatives throughout the world! I will choose 5 pages a week that have touched my life greatly and that inspire me!
This weeks choices are below!
Mary’s meals have a simple mission that EVERY child receives one daily meal in their place of education and for those of us who have more than we need to share it with those who lack even the most basic things!
Many will haveheard of Mary’s Meals but those of you who have not should checkout their website! I havethe pleasure of knowing the family that started this wonderful initiative and they are now feeding over 1,000, 000 children worldwide! Not only that but it really is a simple solution to world hunger! Those of us who have much should give to those with very little!
On top of their back pack appeals and amazing mission you should read ‘The Shed that fed a Million’. Its hard to believe out of a shed in the Scottish highlands came this beautiful Glory to God! But I myself know this is true and real as i have seen the growth and beauty of this Charity through my own eyes!
‘It is my mission to being Christian fun to families on the internet for free, and I am always working on adding to my library of Catholic crafts!’
Catholic icing is a fabulous blog that gives FREE Catholic family crafts and lots of other exciting info! Its amazing to know that through the internet we can see so many beautiful things. Lacy daily shares items on facebook of interest to Catholics as well as having some utterly amazing ideas! To share her motherhood, faith and her full self is just spectacular.
Lucia veils is run by a beautiful woman who has brought up the most wonderful family. She specialises in bespoke mantilla wedding and First communion Veils. These are some of THE most beautiful mantillas I have ever seen!
“Craig Lodge Family House of Prayer is Catholic Retreat Centre in the village of Dalmally, set amongst the beautiful hills and lochs of Argyll, Scotland. It is run by Craig Lodge Community. We offer a varied programme of organised retreats but we are also delighted to welcome guests who just want to enjoy a quiet few days of prayer and reflection. Craig Lodge is often described by guests as, “A home from home”. We look forward to welcoming you as ‘family’ during your stay with us.”
I had the huge blessing of being introduced to Craig lodge when I was 15 years old by my dear friend Br Paul Saccho (RIP) who was like a granpa to me from then until his passing almost 5 years ago. I was then given the blessing of being a community member during a difficult time in my life.
I find it utterly amazing that now my own daughter attends retreats at Craig lodge and her spiritual life is also greatly enhanced by these! I highly recommend visiting if you can get to Scotland!
I would not be making Rosaries now if it hadn’t been for my time at Craig lodge!
I have had the huge blessing in my life of knowing FR Stan Fortuna CFR since I visited the New Dawn Conference in Walsingham, I fully believe that God puts people in our path for a reason! This priest has made a huge impact on my life and has truly encouraged me always. HE has an amazing gift with Youth and also brings so much to the worldwide catholic community!
“Francesco Productions, a non-profit organization started by Fr. Stan Fortuna in 1987, is based in the Bronx, NY. Its goal is to use the modern culture to evangelize and help the poor and needy in the U.S. and abroad. Distributing his music and teaching materials as well as scheduling Fr. Fortuna's speaking and concert engagements, proceeds from all merchandise sales and bookings go towards his and the CFRs hands-on work with the underprivileged.Francesco Productions, a non-profit organization started by Fr. Please take the time to have a look at these websites and enable them further to spread Christ’s love to the world. All have great devotion to walking with Jesus through Mary and I would be delighted to have your feedback on how they have touched your lives!
