  1. As we Begin Lent ....

    Posted on

We have had many repairs to complete for people lately and i had one recently that really saddened me -when a bit of research was done I discovered that this wonderful Person had bought the Rosary originally on ebay and paid much more than i would have expected for it. The Rosary was made in Turkey - sent from switzerland - it said it was made with Lapis Lazuli in the listing but was actually sodalite :( it was not anything like what it said it was and I was really upset. I really urge you to be careful who you purchase from as not everyone that makes Rosaries is doing so for the right reasons.

  2. Marian Reflection for Advent ....

Devotion to Mary is the new evangelisation.”

    Pope Francis.

What Pope Francis means by this is that if we are to stay close to Jesus we must stay close to Mary His mother.

Because of Jesus Mary suffered rejection from all those around her. The night before Jesus was born as Mary and her husband Joseph struggled to find somewhere to stay Mary really suffered at the thought that she was about to give Birth to the Saviour of the world yet the world was rejecting Him.

This is why it is very important to be prepared for Christmas throughout advent – Jesus wishes to come to us but in order for this to happen our hearts must be pure, a place for Jesus to be born in. Like the manger we must be humble.

  3. November - the Month of the Holy Souls

    Posted on

In the Catholic Church it is traditional that we pray throughout the month of November  for those who have gone before us, particularly  the Holy Souls in Purgatory. I’ve always explained the concept of purgatory as a waiting room for Heaven, where we are prepared to meet God and perfected in Holiness before Our Entry to Heaven. It is a cleansing of the soul to prepare you for the Kingdom of Heaven!
