Beads with Faith is a family run company based upon the Rosary and its teachings. As a Catholic company we aim to encompass faith and bead craft to create handmade Rosary beads, chaplets and Christocentric jewellery items. This blog will contain faith centred articles, information about our workshops and some of our products.

  1. If you follow us on social media, you may have noticed some excitement a few weeks ago on instagram and facebook! Beads with Faith have been looking for someone to help us with artwork for a VERY long time ... I love to create Rosary Beads and Chaplets and can draw a little - but wanted drawings that were new and of a great standard to include in our resources for schools and individuals - I have spoken to many people but we never found the right fit!

Then. Lo and behold I come across a wonderful artist on instagram - Drawing the Faith with Mary - I was blown away and I hope you are too :)

  2. As it is Divine Mercy Sunday, and also the year of Mercy, I feel blessed to have been able to ask my friend Helen Border to tell us a bit about Divine Mercy Scotland and what amazing blessings God has imparted on this Ministry in Scotland! Helen is a power house of Jesus love, and has achieved a great deal with her work and ministry in Scotland and she takes on so much beautiful work for the Lord! Her witness and example have been a great inspiration to us and probably, I have not shown enough gratitude to her for her friendship and support. Divine Mercy Chaplet Glass Pearl

On 6 May 2011 Fr John Keenan helped me start a Divine Mercy prayer group in my home.  There were so many attended the first night that during holy mass we had to distribute holy communion in the garden.

  3. "When we look at Mary, we look at all God wants for Humanity" - Unknown*

I came across a blogpost the other day that has encouraged me to write this post - you will notice that some of my reasons are similar (if not so eloquently put, to the Religion teacher's reasons, I am so grateful he posted this and I hope that many of you will find some sense and use in my own reasons!

Why do I dedicate my life to encouraging devotion to the Rosary?I have seen the benefits in classrooms, schools, parishes and in family life. Here are some of the Reasons why, I believe this is a worthwhile cause:

    1. Teaching Prayer. Wow wow wow! ok, so some think the Rosary is boring - I think it is the most beautiful, joyful, simple way of learning about Jesus and learning about how God wants us to live! imagine having just ONE Prayer that encompasses the main prayers our children NEED to learn (the Sign of the Cross,  Apostles Creed, the our Father, the Hail Mary, Glory Be, The Fatima Prayer and Hail Holy Queen)  be built on throughout life AND just helps the kids walk through Jesus life.... thats the Rosary!!!!!
  4. The Rosary means as many things to me as Mary has manifestations. She has been an inspiration to me on three continents and I have found her to be a unifying force everywhere. The terror of Demons, hides us from our false self and brings us back to who we really are.

I always loved my faith and what it composed but always had a sense that there was something missing...the "milk of human kindness" had always been there but not beatingwith the pierced heart of our Blessed Mother. The Rosary was to prove the missing link, a chord that would stretch through my adult life.

It has always been a walking prayer for me, through the Scottish Highlands and across the deserts of North America. I have seen the Rosary best prayed at an, Opus Dei boys camp in Spain; on a basketball court, as the boys circled or sat on the bleachers as the preferred.

De Montfort wanted to be totally hers and recommended focussing on the words and the mysteries alternately. This basks us in the warmth of Jesus and light of Mary which animates that life one after the other.....
